My name is Ashley He

Currently pursuing my MSc in Computer Animation and Visual Effects at Bournemouth University. As well as having a background in Food Science and Engineering, my passion for computer graphics especially in rendering and physical simulation led me to pursue a career in the gaming and film industries.

Before this, I have extensive experience in indie game production through various relevant school courses and projects. From this, I see myself as a good team leader with the ability to work with non-technical artists in a collaborative environment.

As an avid learner, I am constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities to grow my skills and knowledge in the field of Assistant Technical Director or Assistant R&D Engineer in both the game and film industries, and I am excited to bring my passion, dedication, and experience to a dynamic and forward-thinking team.

Extracurricular Activities

Ecommerce

During my free time, I started my own brand of postcards in China and sold them online. I was responsible for creating the designs, managing the website, and handling the logistics of getting the postcards to customers. This experience not only taught me the importance of creating a visually appealing product, but it also taught me how to handle all aspects of running an online business.

Game Jam

During the final year of my college, I participated in lots of game jams, which allowed me to develop my skills in game design, programming and art direction. These experiences have taught me the importance of working in a team, as well as how to manage my time effectively under tight deadlines. I have also gained valuable experience in game development, from prototyping to final product delivery.

Teaching Assistant

For two years, I helped students during classes and office hours by providing guidance and support with their coursework. This experience taught me the importance of clear communication and how to effectively explain complex concepts to others. I am confident in my ability to work with others and to provide support when needed.

Cycling

I have been cycling for several years, both for recreation and as a means of transportation. I am well-versed in different types of cycling, including road, mountain, and touring, and I am passionate about promoting sustainable transportation and the environmental benefits of cycling.
